HIMSS18: Healthix and Mount Sinai Present Frequent ED Alerts Study
Join Us on March 8 l Session #254 L Venetian-Palazzo - Sands Expo Center
Identifying Frequent ED Users in HIE Impacts Case Management is the subject of an educational session that will be presented by Jason Shapiro, MD of Mount Sinai Health System and Tom Moore, VP, Innovation at Healthix. The presentation demonstrates how clinical alerts were developed by Healthix for patients at Mount Sinai who were frequent users of emergency room services. Healthix analyzes millions of encounters across all EDs in its region to identify when a patient has more than 3 visits in 90-days, a threshold that was determined as part of a research study authored by Dr. Shapiro. Case managers receive these alerts so appropriate care can be provided, and avoidable ED visits can be minimized. Learn More >
